Marvin Ronald Taylor

Marvin Taylor, age 79, of North Branch passed away on January 16, 2017 at United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital with his family by his side.  Marvin was born on June 4, 1937 in Flint, Michigan to Ira and Mayme (Bessonen) Taylor.  Marvin grew up in Flint, and graduated from Flint Tec High School in 1955.  On December 8, 1956 he married Janet Pangle.  Marvin retired from General Motors after 38 years of service.  He was a tool and die maker and Marvin also was a CNC programmer.  Marvin enjoyed working in his shop with his grandson, Steven, and he always had time to work on building projects for his granddaughter, Anne.  Marvin worked for different antique shops repairing furniture and fixing chandeliers.  Marvin also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.  He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. 

Left to cherish his memory are:  wife, Janet; daughters, Vicki Taylor, (husband, Paul Newton) of California and Laura Zimmerman; son-in-law, Robert Zimmerman; grandchildren, Anne Zimmerman and Steven Zimmerman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Douglas.

Memorials may be made to the Genesee Animal Shelter or the United Hospice Service.

The family will be present for visitation on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  The Funeral Service will follow on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  Mary Ann Nutt and his friend, Steve Osterwyk will officiate.
