I met Nan through 4-H. For many years she had a 4-H Puppy Raisers Club. She was a loving, gentle soul who taught many young people to love and care for animals, help others, and serve their community as she did. She had such a lovely smile and a warmth that enveloped others. She was a blessing to me. I am so grateful to have had her friendship and her example. My prayers are with her family and all who will miss her.

Your entire family are in my prayers. If it wasn't for Nan there is no way that I would be the person that I am today. She showed me that truly caring for people meant rolling up my sleeves and getting dirty (or furry) by striving to positively touch peoples' lives by being compassionate and bringing joy to them. She was way more than a 4-H leader. She not only shaped puppies into becoming fantastic Leader Dogs, but she also shaped young people into becoming great adults. The world is a little less bright without her.

Nan came in and out of my life since childhood through 4-H and Leader Dog. I will always remember her as a kind, gentle, humble, giving teacher. She had a very natural way with the dogs and she touched so many lives in her journey. She left us better for knowing her. Rest in peace Nan.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. Nan was one of the kindest ladies I have ever met. Truly a gentle soul. 👼🏼I have memories of her way back in 5th grade, her coming into class with her dogs.🐾 She will be missed.

We have enjoyed a special relationship with Nan, John and family for over fifty four years. She has been an inspiration to us in her loving and caring nature to her family and community. We will miss her but the wonderful memories will remain with us the rest of our lives. We are wintering in Florida and are saddened we will be unable to attend the service. Our thoughts and prayers are with John and the family.
with love,

I met Nan at a dog obedience class in the 90s. We both had shepherds we were training. She was so helpful and kind to me. I continued to see her at the vet office. Then she brought one of her leader dog puppies to my classroom to teach my students about the program. She was such a kind person. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
