Victor “Vic” Alvin Rhoda, age 75 of North Branch went to be home with his heavenly Father, on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital. Vic was born on December 3, 1947 in Ottamwa, Iowa, the son of Victor Wayne and Pauline (Simmons) Rhoda. On August 4, 1971, he married Gwendolyn Sanborn. Vic proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked many years at Production Threaded Parts in North Branch. Vic had a great sense of humor. He was a “Jack of all trades and a master of none,” if you wanted anything fixed call Vic. He was always willing to show you how to do things. He enjoyed being around people. He was a happy and cheerful man. Vic was loved by many family and friends.
Vic is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gwen, his sisters, Sue Davis of Anderson, IN, Gail (Tom) Haynes of Smithton, PA, his brother, Paul Rhoda of Anderson, IN, his sisters-in-law, Kate (Ralph) Deshetsky of North Branch, Madelyn (Dan) Scrimger of Lapeer, Jo Marie (Dave) Costello of Cadillac, Jorja Scrimger of Davison, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-law, Hollis and Helen Sanborn, his brothers-in –law, Bob Davis and Robert Sanborn.
Memorials in Vic’s name may be made to the North Branch American Legion Post 457.
Keeping with Vic’s wishes cremation has taken place. Vic will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI with Military Honors on June 7,2023 at 1:30 PM..
