Thomas M. Barnes

 Thomas M. Barnes, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. Tom was born in Marlette, Mi.  on January 5, 1943, the son of Lawrence and Florence (Garbutt) Barnes.  Tom grew up in the North Branch area and graduated from North Branch High School in 1961. He graduated from Hurley School of Nursing in 1964.  He served in the Army Nursing Corps. Upon retirement from nursing and clinic management positions, he retired to Richmond, MI.

Tom leaves behind his children, Thomas A.  (Anne), John, Michael, and Catherine (Daniel) Salvaterra; 10 grandchildren; sister Brenda (Gary) Chuslo; his brother Bill. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Jeanette; his sister and brother-in-law Roberta and Lee Hynett.

Per Tom’s wishes direct cremation has taken place. Graveside service for Tom will be Saturday, July 27, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at Westlawn Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted  by the North Branch American Legion Post 457.
