Theresa Delores (Machones) Travnikar

Theresa Travnikar, age 88, of North Branch, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in Lapeer.

Theresa was born on September 21, 1934, to Michael and Mary Machones in Superior, Wisconsin. 

Theresa grew up in Superior, attended school and graduated there.

Theresa attended nursing school in Royal Oak, Michigan. 

On November 26, 1955, she married Joseph Travnikar at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Theresa was a full time mom raising her children, sewing, gardening, being involved with church events, crocheting, and organizing funeral luncheons. She loved to watch the birds and all kinds of wild life. Theresa is survived by her sons; Joseph (Sharon) Travnikar, Albert (Charlene) Travnikar, Edward (Susan) Travnikar, son in law, Arnie Hawley, 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, daughters; Theresa, Mary Jo and Delores.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society.

The family will be present for visitation on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 4 PM to 8 PM with a Rosary service at 7:30 PM at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Theresa will lay in state from 10 AM to 11 AM  Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Saint Peter & Paul Catholic Church in North Branch.   Mass will follow at 11 AM at Saint Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Muma officiating.

Theresa will be laid to rest next to her husband at Westlawn Cemetery.
