Sharon Ann Murray, 78, of North Branch died March 1, 2021 at home peacefully with her family by her side. She was born on May 27, 1942 at the family home in Arcadia, MI, the daughter of Lawrence and Rita (Robinet) Tallieu. Sharon grew up in Kings Mill and North Branch area. Sharon, her sister Dolores and neighbor friends walked to Kings Mill Country School until the 8th grade. She continued her education at North Branch High School and graduated in 1959.
On January 2, 1965, she married the love of her life, Melvin Murray at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Mel preceded her in death in 1986. Sharon worked at Catholic Social Services before starting her family. After Mel’s death she worked for Kohler Manufacturing as their secretary. Later she retired from the Lapeer Board of Realtors. Sharon enjoyed scrapbooking, sewing, antique shopping, going to Lapeer Rec Center and working out in water aerobics with friends, plus her daily walks. She especially loved spending her time with her 2 grandchildren, they were a very important part of her life.
Sharon is survived by her son, Gary (friend, Louise O’Rourke) Murray, her daughter, Colleen (friend, Dave Coffey), Kaldahl, her grandchildren, Kiplin and Lucca Kai Kaldahl, her sisters, Dolores (Jerry) Bader, Teresa (Larry) Gormley and Erma Jean (Frank) Kennedy, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation for Sharon will be on Thursday, March 4th, 5:00 P.M-8:00 P.M. with Rosary at 5:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Friday, March 5th, Sharon will lie in state at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Sama Muma will be officiating. Sharon will be buried at St. Mary’s Burnside Cemetery at a later date.
