Shannon Touchette, 56, of North Branch passed away peacefully March 21st, 2026 after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends. Shannon was born on June 9th, 1969 in Lapeer and was a 1987 graduate of Lapeer East High School.
There are no earthly words to truly capture the essence of Shannon. He was a mechanic for over 30 years and was known for his kind, generous loving heart and his ability to make friends wherever he went. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and drag racing, and especially cherished time spent at his cabin in Grayling. Shannon adored spending time with his family, friends, and his many dogs.
Shannon is survived by his wife of 32 years, JoAnn (Proulx) Touchette; his sons, Zach (Erica Oliver) Mitchell, and Shane Touchette; his mother, Judy Touchette; his brother, Howard (Dawn) Touchette Jr.; and his sisters, Lorrie (Mark) Husted, Rhonda (Mike) McKee, Michelle (Lonnie) Katt and Heather (Bryan) Halsell; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his best friend, Mel (Gayle) Voelker.
Shannon was preceded in death by his father, Howard Touchette Sr.; his son, Travis Ray Touchette; his close friend, Jerry Watz; and his grandparents.

A graveside service will be held at Stiles Cemetery in Mayfield Township, on Tuesday, April 7th, at 1:00pm., for all who knew and loved Shannon. Pastor Joe Schierlinger will officiate.
