Ronald Thomas Bader, age 73, of North Branch, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at McLaren/Lapeer Regional Hospital.  Ron was born on August 1, 1946, the son of Harold and Grace (Kreiner) Bader. 

Ron was a 1964 graduate of North Branch High School. He married his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Lou Werthman on April 18, 1970 at Our Lady of Refuge, Orchard Lake, MI. He proudly served the United States Army, during the Vietnam War. He retired from General Motors, the  SPO parts plant in Pontiac. Ron was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting with his brothers, fishing and snowmobiling at the cabin.

Ron is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; his daughter, Dana (Don) Knudsen; his grandchildren, Stephanie (Troy) Manthei and Jacob Knudsen; his siblings Darlene (Bader) Hamlin, Gerald (Delores) Bader, and Ken (Linda) Bader; sister-in-laws, Vivian Bader and Maryanne Bader; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Grace Bader; his brothers, Glenn Bader, Robert Bader, Leslie Bader and Bernard Bader; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Bernard Kohler; brother-in-law Duaine Hamlin.

Memorials in Ron’s name may be made to DAV (Disabled Veterans) or St. Jude’s Research Hospital.

 

A private service for family only will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Blackburn Chapel Martin Funeral Home. Deacon Peter Lynch will be officiating. Ron will be laid to rest at All Saint’s Cemetery, White Lake, MI.
