Robert Lewis Scrimger, age 15, a cherished son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend passed away suddenly on April 19, 2025. Robert was born on June 6, 2009 to Shelley Scrimger and Brandon Mesecar in Lapeer, MI. Robert, a sophomore attended North Branch High School, where he was known for his sociable personality and unique expression from the very start of his schooling career. Robert’s charismatic personality and abundant love touched everyone around him. Robert enjoyed playing video games with his friends and Uncle Chaddy. He had become quite the Euchre player. Robert enjoyed history and was looking forward to his trip to Boston. He always enjoyed family trips, even the spontaneous ones. Robert was not afraid to lend a helping hand, whether it be at home, the farm, or for his grandparents to get the job done. Robert specialized in the best homemade gifts and cards for his family. He was the designated popcorn maker and cookie dough tester in the house. Robert’s pride and joy was his dog, Lola, they could always be found together. Robert’s selfless personality, sense of humor and heart of gold will be dearly missed.
Robert is survived by his mother, Shelley Scrimger, his father, Brandon Mesecar, step-father, Matthew Wilcox, grandparents, Michelle Scrimger, Vicky Hutchinson, great-grandmother, Carolyn Watson, grandparents, Sally and Duane Wilcox, Uncles Chad Mesecar, Aaron Hutchinson, Patrick Wilcox plus several great aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Scrimger and Greg Mesecar, cousin, Tim Scrimger, Uncle Butter, cousin, Todd Bertee, great-great-grandmother Marion Mack, great Aunt Madlyn Scrimger and great-grandfather, Cecil Watson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
The family will be present for visitation on Friday, April 25, 2025, 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Visitation on Saturday, April 26, 2025, 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Josh Gates will officiate. Robert will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery next to his grandfather.
