Robert W. Darby, age 92 of North Branch passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Marwood Nursing Home in Port Huron, MI. Bob was born on January 5, 1928, the son of Henry W. and Pearl E. (Stout) Darby. Bob grew up in the Warren, MI. area and graduated from Lincoln High School. On May 1, 1948, Bob married the love of his life, Lorraine Connely, in Warren, MI. Bob was a World War II veteran. He was a navy man and proudly served his country. He retired from the City of Warren after 34 years of service, as a DPW assistant superintendent. He enjoyed fishing, football, darts, playing cards especially euchre and poker, plus having a cold one with family and friends. He cherished the time he spent with his family.
Bob is survived by his sons, Bob (Rose) Darby of North Branch, Timothy Darby of North Branch, Shawn (Kellie) Darby of Clyde Twp. and Ian (Samantha) Darby of Warren; his 8 grandchildren and his 11 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
A private family gathering was held on Thursday, April 2, 2020 to honor Bob’s life. Bob was laid to rest next to his wife at Cadillac Memorial Gardens in Clinton Township, with his four sons as pall bearers.
