Richard "Ricky" Kent Griggs

Richard (Ricky) Kent Griggs, 61 of Silverwood passed away due to a tragic accident in Lapeer on Friday, September 27, 2024. Ricky was born on April 11, 1963 in Oklahoma City, OK, the son of Jimmy Lane and Patsy (Ingram) Griggs. He grew up in Emory, Texas. He married Ramona Kopec in Emory, Texas on March 24, 1984.  Ricky was a landscaper. He loved bonfires, spending time with family and friends. He was a collector of many things, especially salt and pepper shakers and pencil sharpeners. Ricky was a very hard working man. Ricky is helping others after death as an organ donor.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Ramona, children, Misty (Jeff) Phillips, Corey Griggs, Meranda (Austin June) Griggs, grandchildren, Mackenzie, Makayla, Juliana, Austin Jr., Iris and Irene, mother, Patsy (Ingram) Griggs,  step-mother, June Griggs Jones, mother-in-law, Sonja Harris, siblings, Ramona Kaye Ross, Debra Lynn Jenkins, Randy (Lorie) Griggs, Star Griggs, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Marcus, father, Jimmy Griggs, brother, David Griggs and brother-in-law, Richard Jenkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.

The family will be present for visitation on Sunday, October 6, 2024, 12:00 P.M.-1:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Joseph Schierlinger will be officiating. After the service, cremation has been entrusted to Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.
