Richard Earl Kuhn, age 79, of Marlette, passed away on November 24, 2022 at Marlette LongTerm Care of Marlette Regional Hospital. Richard was born on March 24, 1943 in Almont, MI, the son of Edwin and Veda Ruth (Handley) Kuhn. He grew up in the Almont area and was a 1961 graduate of Almont High School. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany for 5 years. On February 13, 1966, he married Emma Fischer in Germany. Richard retired from General Motors in 1989. He was a member of the NRA. Richard was a cub and boy scout leader. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking and spending time with his family. Richard was a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions.
Richard is survived by his son, Jerry (Diane) Kuhn of Mayville, his grandchildren, Jakob Andrew Kuhn of Mayville and Jerilynn Hope (Kyle Jones) Kuhn of Tennessee, his great-grandson, Eric Jones of Tennessee and his sister, Mildred Simpkins of Imlay City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma (2003), his parents, his brother, Norman Kuhn and his brother-in-law, James Simpkins.
Memorials in Richard’s name may be directed to Marlette Long Term Care or North Branch American Legion Post 457.
The family will be present for visitation on Thursday, December 1, 2022, 3:00-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Friday, December 2, 2022 visitation will be 10:00-11:00 A.M. with Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home Rev Ronald Hutchinson will officiate. Richard will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the North Branch American Legion Post 457.
