Richard D. Knoll

Richard D. Knoll, age 93, of Grand Blanc, passed away peacefully at The Pines of Lapeer on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.  Richard was born on December 22, 1926,  in Flint, MI, the son of Fred and Bertha (Marzahn) Knoll. He grew up in the Mt. Morris area and attended Mt. Morris schools. Before graduation he entered the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country in the Army Airborne Division. Richard was a truck driver for a Ready-Mix Company.  He enjoyed sailing, baccarat and playing poker.  One year, Richard played in the World Series of Poker at the Binions.

Richard is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Kelly Martin; his step-children, the Gargagliano family-Tim, Michael and Lori.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Natalie; his 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the North Branch American Legion Post 457 or Paradise Animal Rescue of Lapeer.

Richard will be laid to rest on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI with military honors.  Due to Covid-19 attendance is limited and masks are required.
