Rhoda Lynne Lucia
February 16, 1967 – December 28, 2023
Rhoda Lynne (Cory) Lucia, age 56, of North Branch, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc.
Rhoda was born on February 16, 1967, in Flint MI, the daughter of Wayne and Carol Sue (Bishop) Cory. She graduated from Lapeer West in 1985 and Detroit College of Business with a degree in Business Administration in 1999. Rhoda loved spending time with others. She loved the Lord and was active in her church and community. She was passionate about her job, dedicating 24 years to the North Branch Area School district. She loved being outside, spending time with her grandbabies, cuddling her dogs, going to movies, and spending time on the weekends crafting with her family and friends.
Rhoda is survived by her children, Zachary (Heather) Lucia of Marlette, MI, Jacob (Rachel) Lucia of Lapeer, MI, Ryan (Angel) Lucia of Albion, MI; grandchildren, Payton, Reagan, Rowan, and grandbaby number four due in February; father, Wayne (Carol) Cory of North Branch, MI; her mother, Kristina Spees of Fenton, MI; sisters, Faith Kurdi of Mebane, NC, Teena (Vincent) Burchianti of Florida, Lorna (Tracy) Violet of Silverwood, MI; brothers, Richard (Suzanne) Cory of Livonia, MI, Martin (Tracey) Spees of Indiana, Jason (Angi) Spees of Fenton, MI, David (Lisa) VanMeter of Titusville, FL, Jonathon (Jade) cory of North Branch, MI; close friends she loved dearly and her loving pets Madi, Luna, and Lucy. Rhoda is preceded in death by her mother, Carol Sue (Bishop) Cory; biological father, Orley K. Spees; brother, Mark Anthony Cory; grandmother, Rosalie Cory; and countless beloved pets.
The family would like to sincerely thank Ascension Genesys Hospital for the tender, loving care the nurses and doctors gave Rhoda in her final days.
Visitation for Rhoda will be Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home North Branch MI. Service to follow at 5:00 PM at the Blackburn -Chapel Martin

Rhoda will be laid to rest next to her mother in Westlawn Cemetery privately.
