Rebecca “Becky” J. Urchick, 87, of North Branch passed away at her home on Sunday, November 2, 2025. Becky was born on September 6, 1938 in Beards Fork, West Virginia, the daughter of Fred and Bessie (Atkins) Oxyer. Becky spent her years growing up in West Virginia, Florida and Michigan. On October 1, 1954 she married Paul Urchick in Angola, Indiana. They just celebrated their wedding anniversary of 71 years.
Becky was a “Mom” and a homemaker. She enjoyed baking, reading and collecting cook books especially “Taste of Home”, doing crossword puzzles, bird watching. Becky was the beating heart of the family farm. Her love was the bond that held the family together. She loved her family very much and her children, Paul Frederick (Maria), Janet (Rick), Mike (Shelly), Becky, Nicky, John (Andrea), Daniel (Lauren), Brandon (Sidney). She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children Hospital or the American Heart Association.
Becky is survived by her husband, Paul, children, Janet, Mike, Becky, Nicky, John, Daniel, Brandon, daughter-in-law, Maria, 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, brothers, Ron Oxyer, Dan Ray Oxyer, sister, Sue Brady, plus many extended children and grandchildren who called her Mom. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Paul Frederick, granddaughter, Meagan Urchick, brothers, Maynard, Alex, Jerry Oxyer and sister, Phyllis Hilts.
The family will be present for visitation on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, 3:00 P.M-8:00 P.M at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with a Scripture Service at 7:00 P.M. On Thursday, November 6, 2025, visitation will be 9:30 A.M.-10:30 A.M. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. Rev. James Houbeck will officiate. Becky will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery.
