Phyllis Lorraine (Bard) Senko

Phyllis L. Senko, age 85, of North Branch passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital. Phyllis was born on August 7, 1937 in Flint, MI, the daughter of Ben and Marion (Matheson) Bard. Phyllis grew up in the Deerfield area formerly known as Corner 16. She was a 1955 graduate of North Branch High School.

Phyllis married Ernest Senko on October 1, 1955 at West Deerfield Church. Phyllis worked many years in the medical field. She was an office manager at several doctor’s offices.  She retired from Dr. Rita Lange’s office at the age of 78 after 32 years. Phyllis’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She talked to them every day. She was a very involved grandmother.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Beth Dhooghe, her son, Scott (DeVona) Senko, her grandchildren, William (Deana) Dhooghe, Joseph (Sarah) Dhooghe, Scott (Amanda) Senko, Cassie (Tom) Hill and Anna (Micah) Hoffman, her 13 great grandchildren and her brother, Jim (Jan) Bard.   She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son-in-law, Patrick Dhooghe, her grandson, Roger Senko, her sister, Donna Russell and brother Richard Bard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital, P.O. Box 307, Marlette, MI, 48453 in care of helping paying for others in need of their service.

A Memorial Service for Phyllis will be held later in the spring. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at West Deerfield Cemetery.
