Phyllis (Surprenant) Kerr

Olen Kerr, age 96, of Lapeer, joined his Holy Father in Heaven on November 28, 2022.  His wife of 76 years, Phyllis joined him peacefully on March 22, 2023.  They grew up together in, Bad Axe, MI.  They married Jan 21, 1946, at the age of 18 and 20, raised 5 children; Richard of Clarkston, MI, John/DeLynn of Troy, MI, Dan/Bonnie of Punta Gorda, FL, Joan of Neebish Island, MI, and Ann/Greg of Bellaire, MI, 10 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.
Olen was drafted into the Army Air Corp. in 1944, as an aviation student.  He was discharged from Scottsfield, IL in 1945.  He was employed by Detroit Edison for 33 years as a service planner, retiring in 1988.  Olen enjoyed working in his yard, hunting, music (especially Country Western), dancing, playing cards (euchre) and caring for his feathered friends (especially the clever crows).  
Phyllis was a wonderful homemaker, she loved working in her flower gardens, playing cards (euchre), and  girls trip to the casino.  She enjoyed cooking, baking and canning, but most of all she loved her family time.
They were able to spend many wonderful winters in Zephyr Hills, FL and summers in Black River, MI.
A Celebration of Life and Graveside Blessing for Olen and Phyllis will be May 20,2023 at 2:30 PM, St Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, North Branch, family and friends are invited to attend.
