Paul F. Fike, age 87, of North Branch/ Attica passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Stonegate Health Campus, Lapeer, MI. Paul was born on January 28, 1933, in Flint, MI , the son of Francis and Helen (Hutchins) Fike. At the age of 5, the Fike family moved to North Branch. Paul grew up on the family farm on Lake Pleasant Road in North Branch. Paul was a 1950 graduate of North Branch High School. Paul proudly served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed 2 years in Germany. He retired from General Motors.
Paul was a member of the Lapeer Masons and Tall Shriners. He loved playing the trumpet. Paul played the taps for Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades plus for many military funerals. Paul was a volunteer for the Shriner’s circus. He was an avid supporter of the Shriner Children Hospital. Paul was a member of the AC/Delco traveling band. Paul enjoyed square dancing, fishing, playing cards. Spending time with his family always brought a smile to his face, especially time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his children, Linda (David) Hartman, Kevin (Lisa) Fike and Sherry (Matthew) Stock, his grandchildren, David, Nicole, Daniel, Kayla, Jennifer, Nadeania, and Tatum, his great-grandchildren, Mason, David, Gavin, Carson and Jaxon, his brother Karl (Carolyn) Fike, special friend, Louise Anderson and his nieces, nephews and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials in Paul’s name may be made to the Shriners.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2020, 1:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. with Mason services at 5:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Funeral service for Paul will be on Friday, March 6, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. with visitation prior 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Ron Rouse will be officiating. Paul will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in North Branch. MI.
Military honors will be conducted by the North Branch American Legion Post 457.
