Paul D. Bowen, age 85, of North Branch moved into “Heaven” on February 3, 2023. He was born on June 11, 1937 to Glen and Lela Bowen on Pontiac, MI. He graduated from Waterford High School in Waterford, MI.
Staff Sergeant Bowen served in the U.S. Army for 13 years. He served in Korea, Germany and Vietnam where he received his purple heart after nearly losing his life. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after serving 43 years.
Since retiring, he has enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, woodworking, collecting eagles, playing his guitar and singing, reading the Bible and having a dedicated prayer life. He has been a Sunday school teacher, Head Usher, Search for Truth teacher, preached in several churches, bus ministry, director of senior fellowships, played guitar in church bands, Hymn Sings at Suncrest Nursing Facility, Pastor Appreciation Sundays, and Pastor’s Christmas and Deacon at FAC.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda. He is also survived by his 5 children, Rebecca (Todd) Ivey of MI, Paul (Kim) Bowen II of MI, John (Linda) Bowen of MI, Kim Napier of TX, Israel (Katherine) Roberson of FL, daughter-in-law Jolene Copp of MI, his 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Paul will be on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at the First Apostolic Church of Imlay City, 859 N. Van Dyke Rd, Imlay City, MI, with funeral service at 12:00 P.M. Reverend Joseph Carpenter will be officiating the service. Paul will be buried at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. Military honors conducted by the North Branch American Legion Post 457.
