Michael L. "Mike" Seames

Michael L. Seames (72), of Lapeer, Michigan, born May 12th, 1950, passed away on March 24th, 2023. Michael, known by Mike, grew up in Lapeer, Michigan. After graduating high school, Mike served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his return to the States, he began his lifelong career in carpentry and woodworking. Skills that he would use in both his professional life as well as to help a friend or family in need. 

Mike is survived by his children, Jamie, Brad, Amy and Ryan. He is also survived by his grandsons, Alex, Brenden, Tyson and Cameron as well as by his cherished granddaughter, Anabelle. He is also survived by his brother, Terry, and sisters, Dawn and Patty. Mike was predeceased by his sister, Wendy and his parents, Bob and Yvonne.

Aside from his talents for woodworking, Mike was a talented pool player, having played in many leagues throughout the years where he met many wonderful friends. When not at the billiards table, Mike would spend many summers in state forests and national parks. He was a true hero who was loved and respected by his family, friends and community. Mike passed away peacefully surrounded by his children. 

Mike did not want a funeral or any services. His ashes will be spread throughout some of the forests and parks that he loved. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a Michigan State Park in Mike’s name.
