Maxine Sue Hart, 79, of Kingston passed away peacefully at Christensen Care in Marlette, on July 1, 2026. Maxine was born in Attica, in September 10, 1946, the daughter of Samuel and Eunice (Galloway) Arms. Maxine grew up in Attica and graduated from Lapeer High School. On June 24, 1966, Maxine married Dan Hart in Lum. Maxine was a homemaker. She loved taking care of her husband and boys. She enjoyed sewing, crafts but most of all she loved quilting. She would make baby quilts for her friends first born. She was interest in genealogy. She tracked her ancestors back to the mid 1700’s-1800’s.
Maxine is survived by her sons, John of Mikado, Kevin of Oxford, Tim of Cass City, granddaughter, Desiree Powers, siblings, Sam Arms, Joyce Morford, half-sisters, Barb (Jake) Havens, Sandy and Terry, many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dan and sister, Nina Kennedy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family who will donate to their favorite charities.
The family will be present for visitation on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home, 4216 Huron Street, North Branch, MI. On Thursday, July 9, 2026, visitation will be 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 12:00 P.M. Pastor Joseph Schierlinger will officiate. Maxine will be buried next to her husband, Dan, at West Burlington Cemetery in Clifford at a later date.
