Mary Elizabeth Kohler, 95, of North Branch passed away on June 17, 2024 at Lapeer County Medical Facility. Mary was born on May 31, 1929, at the family home in Burnside Township, the daughter of Jerome and Rosella (Kreiner) Kohler. She attended Marlette High School and was a 1946 graduate. Mary worked as a bookkeeper at the North Branch Food Lockers and at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She volunteered her bookkeeping skills for many years for the North Branch Emergency Aid/ Thrift Shop. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Garden Club and Horizon Club. Mary enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She was a very social person who loved to talk and visit with whoever was around. She loved the visits and time she spent with her many nieces and nephews.
Mary is survived by her sister-in-law, Norma Kohler, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Josephine Ruhlman, Helen Kohler, brothers, Leo, James, John, Edwin, Bernard and Robert.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Display Gardens at Suncrest.
The family will be present for visitation on Sunday, June 23, 2024, 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with the rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. On Monday, June 24, 2024, visitation will be 10:00 A.M. -11:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Burnside Church will Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Richard Treml, Deacons Jason Diebolt and Peter Lynch will be officiating. Mary will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Burnside Cemetery.
