Martin Bruman, age 71, of Lapeer passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Martin was born on September 4, 1952 in Lapeer, the son of Leo and Beatrice (Cook) Bruman. He grew up in the Clifford area and was a 1971 graduate of North Branch High School. Martin was a very proud Marine serving the United States during the Vietnam era. He did manufacturing work in the Metamora area. Martin was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He was an avid fan of NSCAR. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his scooter around Lapeer. Martin was an active member of the 40/8 participating in all of parades in the area.
Martin is survived by his daughters, Tonja Bruman and Andrea (Justin) Wilton, his girlfriend, Nancy Bagley, his grandchildren, Ari, Ella and Tanner, his sisters, Phylliss Brown, Marie Wissmiller, Lorraine Martin, Theresa (Donald) Damron, Kathleen (Max) Himmel, Sharon Rusak, his brothers, Leo, Lee (Linda), Gary (Joyce) Parrish, Charles, Paul (Robin), Bernard Bruman, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Eugene and brother-in-law, Frank Rusak.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the 40/8 or for Masses.
The family will be present for visitation on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 2:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. with Scripture Service at 7:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Thursday, September 28, 2023 visitation will be 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Richard Treml will be officiating. Martin will be laid to rest at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the North Branch American Legion Post 457.
