Marlene Elaine Goss, age 70, of Brown City passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, May 24, 2021. Marlene was born on October 26, 1950, the daughter of Gerald and Elaine (Ford) Snoblen. She grew up in the Lapeer/ North Branch area and was a 1969 graduate of North Branch High School.
On June 16, 1971, Marlene married John Goss at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in North Branch. Marlene worked as an aide, working in group homes taking care of the handicapped.
Marlene was an avid reader. She also enjoyed vacationing in Florida, watching humming birds, orioles and wildlife.
Marlene is survived by her husband, John, her son, John Michael Goss, her daughter, Dawn Michelle(Shawn) McClain, several foster grandchildren, her siblings, Richard Snoblen, Dale (Rose) Snoblen, Mary (Steve) Kaake, Janice (Rollo) Pickens, Brian (Trena) Snoblen and Kathy Snoblen,and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Daryl Snoblen and her sister-in-law, Shirley Snoblen.
Visitation for Marlene will be on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Thursday, May 27, 2021, visitation will be 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. with funeral service to follow at 11:00 A.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Rev. Ronald Hutchinson will officiate. Marlene will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery in North Branch.
