Mark Stephen Schank, 50, of Clifford passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Marlette Regional Hospital. Mark was born to Paul and Ruth (Putz) Schank on December 15, 1973 in Yale, Michigan. Mark grew up in North Branch and was a 1992 graduate of North Branch High School. On October 13, 2023, he married Ashley Jones in Salem, Massachusetts. Mark worked for Rasmussen Truck and Service Center of Caro for 19 years. Mark was Fire Chief of Clifford for the past 8 years and was a volunteer fire fighter for 30 years plus. Mark was a very loving and compassionate guy, who cared deeply for his family and community. Mark enjoyed playing uno, legos, woodworking, working in his barn tinkering on his tractor and fire truck. Mark loved the time spent with his son, Ryan.
Mark is survived by his wife, Ashley, son, Ryan Schank, mother, Ruth Schank, sister, Patricia Schank, brother, Don (Hannah) Schank, nephews, Carter, Sam and Jayson, father and mother- in-law, Jason and Louise Castle, brothers-in-law, Dylan (Jamie) Castle and Brent Castle, aunt, uncle, cousins and his firemen family. Mark was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any Tri-County Bank in the name of Lousie Castle in memory of Mark.
The family will be present for visitation on Saturday, March 30, 2024, 10:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Terry Blackmer will officiate. Burlington Township Fire Department will escort Mark to his final resting place at Siple Cemetery in Koylton Township.
