Marjorie Marie (Ross) Orr

Marjorie M. Orr, age 98, of North Branch, passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 8, 2023 with her family by her side. Marge was born on October 15, 1924 to Guy and Lepha (Leavens) Ross in North Branch, MI.  She grew up in North Branch graduating from North Branch High School in 1942.

On October 18, 1947 she married Daniel S. Orr at the First United Methodist Church in North Branch.

Marge worked at the Post office in North Branch for over 30 years.  She was very active in the women’s group at the Methodist Church, the garden club and all her children’s activities.

Marjorie is survived by her daughters; Suzanne (Paul) Chappel of Cass City, Michelle (Timothy) Straight of Port Austin, and Kimberly (Daniel) Curran of Charlotte, grandchildren; Christopher Chappel, Ashlie (Mark) Brining, Amanda (Chris) Kuzak, Nicholas (Kelly) Chappel, Jordan (Lindsay) Straight, Justin (Sarah) Straight, Benjamin (Amanda) Straight, Emily (Rick) Tirado, Andrew (Stephanie) Curran, Natalie (Walid) Mediouni, Dustin (Brittnay) Curran, 17 great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Gretchen Orr.   Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband; Daniel, son; Danny sisters; Ellen, Doris, and Phyllis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may directed to First United Methodist Church in North Branch.

Family will be present for visitation on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 10 AM to 12PM at the First United Methodist Church in North Branch with the funeral service at 12PM, Pastor Theodore Alkins  officiating. 

A private burial will be at a later date.

The family would also like to say a special Thank you to all the staff at the Long Term Care in Pigeon, MI for all the love and care Marge received.
