Marion (Gural) Ferkowicz

Marion Ferkowicz, age 87 of Smiths Creek, MI passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024 at home with her family by her side.  Marion was born on October 10, 1936 in Silverwood,  the daughter of William and Anna (Blasco) Gural. She grew up in the Silverwood area and was a 1955 graduate of North Branch High School. In August of 1957, Marion married Edward Ferkowicz in Angola, Indiana. Marion was a secretary at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Port Huron.  She enjoyed taking care of her flower garden and making pierogis with the family. Marion loved spending time with her family.

Marion is survived by her husband, Edward, her children, Milissa (Richard) Panno, Mark (Christina) Ferkowicz, Michael (Jayme) Ferkowicz, Michelle (Michael) Bader, Marie (Mitchell) Steele, Monica (Benjamin) Calhoun, her grandchildren, Adam, Tamara, Nicholas, Jacob, Maya, Aaron, her 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Frank Gural, John Gural, Sandra Hines, Olga Sokolik, Mike Gural, Tony Gural, Ann Bruise, Rose Marie Ketchel, infant brother, William Frederick Gural.

The family will be present for visitation on Thursday, February 1, 2024, 2:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel Martin Funeral Home with Divine Mercy at 6:00 P.M. On Friday, February 2, 2024 visitation will be 10:00 A.M-11:00 A.M. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Sama Muma will officiate.  Marion will be laid to rest at West Burlington Cemetery in Silverwood.
