Marcus M.L. Martinez

Marcus Martin Lucas Martinez, 70, of Lapeer passed away on December 12, 2025 at Apache Junction, Arizona. Marcus was born on December 26, 1954 in Bad Axe, MI, the son of Guandalupe and Gervasia (Rodriguez) Martinez. Marcus grew up in Bad Axe and graduated from Bad Axe High School. He attended Mott Community College for GM Skilled Trades, where he won many awards. He worked for General Motors for 38 years and retired in April 2023.

Marcus was an avid pool player, a watch collector enthusiast, collector of comic books, liquor bottles because he liked the bottle shape, Hard Rock Cafe’ pins. Marcus loved puzzles, problem solving games and traveling.

Marcus is survived by his sons, Joshua Martinez and Jeremy (Jessica) Davis, grandchildren, Allana Davis, Dillan Davis, Kiernan Davis, Jordan Davis, Kaden Davis, Allysa Davis, Kaitlyn Wilson, Kyle Wilson, siblings, Lupe Martinez, Rosie Zellar, Suzie (Garret) Kladzyk, Vickie Zapata,  David (Jessica) Martinez, Robert (Wanda) Martinez, Manual Martinez, many nieces, nephews, special friends, Connie Toppi and Cheri Hemingway, fur baby, Snowflake. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Juanita, nephews, Jerome Kladzyk and Paul Martinez.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Karmanos Cancer Center, 1295 Barry Drive, Suite B, Lapeer, MI. 48446.

The family will be present for visitation on Sunday, January 4, 2026, 1:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Monday, January 5, 2026, visitation will be 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 12:00 P.M.  Celebrant Sue Shoemaker will officiate. Marcus will be laid to rest at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lapeer, MI.
