Marcus Dwayne Griggs

Marcus Dwayne Griggs,  39, of Silverwood, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024 due to a tragic accident in Lapeer, MI. Marcus was born on February 12, 1985 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Richard Kent and Ramona June (Kopec) Griggs. He grew up in Texas and Michigan. Marcus was a landscaper, who worked alongside with his dad. Marcus was a very adventurous guy. He enjoyed riding bikes, being outside. He loved being with his dad working and hanging out together. He was a very giving guy to others, even after his death as an organ donor.

Marcus is survived by his mother, Ramona, siblings, Misty (Jeff) Phillips, Corey Griggs, Meranda Austin June) Griggs, grandmothers, Patsy Griggs, June Griggs Jones, Sonja Harris, nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, Makayla, Juliana, Austin Jr., Iris and Irene. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard, grandfathers, Jimmy Lane Griggs, John Kopec, Uncle David Griggs and Uncle Richard Jenkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.

The family will be present for visitation on Sunday, October 6, 2024, 12:00 P.M.-1:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Joseph Schierlinger will officiate. After the service, cremation has been entrusted to Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.
