Louise Vivian Pasternak, age 94, of North Branch passed away on January 5, 2021 at the Lapeer County Medical Care Facility. Louise was born in Sebewaing, MI, on October 7, 1926, the daughter of Melvin and Ethel (Lennox) Diller. On August 31, 1946, Louise married Francis (Fred) Pasternak. Louise worked 10 years at the Marlette Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed quilting, cooking for the family, mushroom hunting and fishing. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always put a smile on her face.
Louise is survived by her sons, John (Tammy) Pasternak and Jos (Regina) VanBerckel; her daughter, Judith Rappuhn; her daughter-in-law, Deborah Pasternak; her brother-in-law, Michael Pasternak; her 13 grandchildren; her 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grand child; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Fred Jr.; her grandson, James Pasternak; her parents; her siblings, Sally Passingham, George Diller, Melvin Diller and Lula Ruth Patrick.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fred Pasternak Memorial Scholarship (c/o Tammy Pasternak).
Per Louise’s wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 16, 2021, 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 P.M. with Rev. Richard Treml officiating. Louise will be laid to rest next to her husband at SS Peter& Paul Cemetery.
