Lou Ann (Hawks) Eckman, 65, of Fostoria, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at home with her family by her side. Lou Ann was born on March 10, 1959, in Livonia, MI, the daughter of James and Mary Lou (Watkins) Hawks. Lou Ann grew up in the Livonia area and graduated from Bentley High School. She married David G. Eckman on September 12, 1998.
Lou Ann enjoyed life to the fullest, with spending her time gardening, but spent the best times taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren that meant everything to her.
Lou Ann is survived by her husband, David, son Jeremy T. (Michelle) Johnson, step sons; Pete (Bev) Eckman and John (Jen) Eckman. Grandchildren Jada Kennedy, Bentlee Burns, Bryce Burns, Joshua Johnson, Logan Johnson, Jarron Johnson, Kaila Johnson, Brittany (TJ) Martinez, Lillian Eckman, Shelby Eckman, Jack Kinser, Salvatore Kinser and Nina Eckman, 4 great grandchildren, father James Hawks, and numerous-much loved-family and friends.
Lou Ann was preceded in death by her daughter Jody in 2020, and her mother in 2019.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Eckman family.
Per Lou Ann’s wishes cremation has taken place and a gathering of family and friends will be held at a future date.
