Lorraine (Lange) Schaub

Lorraine E. Schaub, age 88, passed away on October 20, 2022. She was born at home on the family farm in North Branch, Michigan. She attended elementary school in a one room school house in Kings Mill and graduated salutatorian from North Branch High School in 1950. She worked as a secretary at Hudson’s in Detroit and married Vern Schaub in 1960. She loved crossword puzzles, sewing, and arranging and drying flowers. She enjoyed canning and baking, and her family loved her canned peaches and homemade bread. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in North Branch, where she volunteered for many years.

Beloved wife of 62 years to Vern. Loving mother to Steve Schaub, Jill (Jeff) Laur, Jane (Tom) Jeffrey, the late Carol (Steve) Chalk, and Bill (Jessica) Schaub. Dear grandmother to Jason (Katie) and Jered (Amanda) Laur; Lucas, John, and Elsa Jeffrey; Iris Chalk; and Madeline (fiancée Jerry), Emma, Elizabeth, and Nathaniel Schaub. Great-grandmother to Jake and Kenzie Laur and Eloise Laur. Daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Lange. Sister to John Lange, Jr. (the late Joy), Duane Lange (the late Phyllis), the late Marion Lange, Dolores Samul (the late Ray), and the late Kenneth (Patricia). Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by all who loved her dearly.

The family will be present for visitation on Monday, October 24, 2022, 3:00 P.M. to  8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with rosary at 7:00 P.M.  On Tuesday, October 25, 2022  visitation will be 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M.   Rev. Richard Treml will be officiating.  Lorraine will be laid to rest next to her daughter at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
