Linwood Gravlin, 90, of North Branch passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 with his family by his side. Lin was born on April 14, 1936, in, MI, the son of Earl Roy and Winnie Mae (Bradstreet) Gravlin. Lin grew up in Troy and graduated from Troy High School. Lin moved to the North Branch area in 1957. On August 27, 1973, Lin married Thelma Gates at the Wesleyan Church. Troy
Lin was a livestock and crop farmer. He enjoyed square dancing, hunting and loved his cats. He raised sheep for 4-H. He was a 4-H leader and supervisor for many years. Lin enjoyed watching Joe farm the land. When Lisa was born “Lin Gravlin and Daughter” was painted on the equipment. His granddaughter Josie was the apple of his eye. She brought him so much joy. Attending church was also a very important part of Lin’s life. Lin and Thelma rarely missed a church service, riding their side by side to the church.
Lin is survived by his wife, Thelma, daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Joe Swain, granddaughter, Josie Lin, brother, Earl (Julia) Gravlin, many nieces, nephews and North Branch neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marilyn Maasch.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Youth Sheep Department of the Eastern State Michigan Fair.
The family will be present for visitation on Friday, June 19, 2026, 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P. M .at the North Branch Wesleyan Church with Lin’s funeral service to follow at 12:00 P.M. Pastor Jason Cullin will officiate. Lin will Be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery
