Linda Hayes, age 73, of North Branch passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital. Linda was born on June 25, 1947, in New Castle, PA to Adelchi and Mary (Arena) Nascivera. She graduated in 1965 from Clawson High School. Linda married her husband of 53 years, Raymond Hayes, on August 12, 1967. Linda earned her business degree at Detroit Business Institute. She worked as a secretary at North Branch High School, served on the North Branch School Board for a number of years, attended and served in numerous roles at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, was an advisor for the Rainbows of Hope Youth Group, and coached junior and senior high cheer. Linda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren in the family swimming pool, cheering in the stands at many sporting events, cooking her famous mostaccioli for family functions and celebrating her Italian heritage.
Linda is survived by her husband, Ray; her children, Deanna (Craig) Knox of Dryden, Kelly (George) O’Melia of Grand Blanc, Scott (Kristine) Hayes of Williams Bay, WI and Erin (Joe) Coppola of North Branch; her 11 grandchildren, Regan, Justin and Riley Knox; Kyler and Camden O’Melia; Braden, Rori, Tripp and Tate Hayes; John and Jenson Coppola; her sister-in-laws, Carol Nascivera, Dolores Hayes, Rhonda (Ric) Miller; her brother-in-laws, Bill (Barb) Hayes and Don (Linda) Hayes; her mother-in-law, Wanda Hayes; many nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Albert Nascivera; her nephew, Rodney Nascivera; her father-in-law, Hugh Hayes; and godson, Tim Anderson.
Memorials can be made in Linda’s name to the North Branch Knights of Columbus Council #9568.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020, 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Funeral Chapel in North Branch, Rosary will be recited at 4:00 P.M. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, 2:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel. On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, Linda will lie in state at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Father Sama Muma will be officiating. Linda will be laid to rest at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery.
