Larry James Mikinka Sr, 71, of Imlay City, passed away at his home on March 24, 2025. Larry was born on October 19, 1953 in Troy, MI the son of Henry and Alice (Bochmiller) Mikinka. Larry was a Federal Grain Inspector for over 50 years.
Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing his guitar and sitting down with a big bowl of chocolate ice cream. He had a great sense of humor and was always ready to tell a good joke. Most of all he loved the family gatherings at the outback by his pond, where memories were made.
Larry is survived by his sons, Larry Luke James Mikinka Jr, Michael (Christina) Mikinka, Joseph (Melice) Mikinka, his 14 grandchildren, sister, Barbara (Mike) Kenefick, brother, Jack Mikinka, ex-wife and friend, Diann (Steve) Goring and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Henry "Butch".
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the family.
In keeping with Larry's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. A Celebration of Larry's Life will be held later this summer at his pond.
