Karl R. Fike

Karl Raymond Fike, age 86, of North Branch passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. Karl was born on March 18, 1937 in Flint, the son of Francis and Helen (Hutchins) Fike. Karl grew up in North Branch and was a 1955 graduate of North Branch High School.  On June 11, 1960, Karl married Carolyn Hebberd at the First United Methodist Church in North Branch.

Karl served in the Michigan National Guards. He retired from General Motors as an electrician. Karl was a volunteer for the Lapeer County Deputy Reserves. He also served on the North Branch Township Board of Review. Karl enjoyed fall color rides, casinos, farming and making maple syrup. He always had a joke to tell anyone he met. He loved the town of North Branch and the community itself.

Karl is survived by his children, Brian (Stacey) Fike, Darin (Linda) Fike, Scott (Andrea) Fike, Tonya (friend, Jeremy) Bukoski, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, his parents and his brother, Paul.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to McLaren/Lapeer Hospice.

The family will be present for visitation on Thursday, October 26, 2023, 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home.  On October 27, 2023, visitation will be 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. with funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Joseph Schierlinger will officiate. Karl will be laid to rest next to his wife at Maple Grove Cemetery. .
