Junior "Don" Gruber

Junior Donald (Don) Gruber, 90, of Fostoria passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Fisher Senior Care and Rehab Center with his family by his side. Don was born on April 15, 1934, the son of John and Emma (Hunt) Gruber. Don married the love of his life, Thelma Stoner on September 18, 1954 at the Ortonville Baptist Church in Ortonville, MI. He was a machinist, construction worker, and a jack of all trades. He was always willing to help a neighbor or friend when needed. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors and gardening. He loved his dachshund, Snoopie.

Don is survived by his children, Deborah Ann (Danny) Day, Donald LeRoy Junior (Susan) Gruber, Emma Marie Gruber, Pamela Lynn (Tracy) Mancour, John (Rena) Gruber, Sandra Kay Gruber, 4 grandchildren, Donald James (Jackie) Gruber, Heidi Renee (Timothy) Dodge, Kaliesha Ann Gruber (Rob), John Earl (Amanda) Gruber, 8 great-grandchildren, Jennifer Gruber, Donavon Gruber, Michael Gruber, Logan Dodge, Mason Dodge, Chance Gruber, Sammantha Gruber and Hierolynn Gruber, his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma, his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Fisher Senior Care and Rehab Center, Amara Hospice Care or the family.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday, October 5, 2024, 1:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with a memorial service at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Jeff DuFour will officiate. In keeping with Don’s wishes cremation has taken place. Don and Thelma will be buried together at a later date.
