Judith Yvonne McDowell

Judith Yvonne McDowell, age 88, of Fostoria passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

Judy was born on October 20, 1934, in Decatur, IL. to Hugh and Evelyn (Suddith) Manning.    Judy grew up in Flushing.  On August 15, 1953 Judy married Carl McDowell in Flushing, MI.

Judy always had an open heart and an open door to whoever wanted to stop by, which usually ended up being 9 to 15 people for a casual unplanned visit.  She was an amazing baker, and we will forever keep her recipes for no-bake cookies, pumpkin rolls and her famous banana sheet cake.  She loved to play cards (even though she never won).  She had a family that loved her and a husband who adored her.  They traveled the country in their beloved motor home and sold at craft shows throughout their retirement.  The world lost an amazing lady today and heaven gained another angel.   We know she is up there playing cards right now with papa.

 Judy is survived by her daughter Christina (Steve) McBride of Fenton, sons; Russell (Sandy) McDowell of Fenton, Tim (Sheri) McDowell of Davison, 7 grandchildren, sister, Doris Coqigne, sister-in-laws; Nana McDowell, Dorothy Houck and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, her parents, sisters; Donna, Dorothy and brother Willis.                                                                                                                   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.                                                   

 Visitation for Judy will be on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 5 PM to 8 PM and Friday, April 21, 2023 from 10 AM to 11 AM  at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home, with funeral service following at 11 AM, Rev. Ron Hutchinson officiating.  Judy will be buried next to her husband in the Rich Township Cemetery.
