Joyce M. (Berndt) Klauka

Joyce M. Klauka, age 81 of North Branch passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at her home with her family at her side. Joyce was born on February 5, 1938 in Oak Park, Michigan.  She was the  daughter of the late Ira Vern-Strong Berndt and Madeline Clare VanLent. On June 6, 1957 she married Leland Klauka in Lapeer MI.

Joyce loved to watch old movies, going on long trips up north to visit the lighthouses.  She enjoyed watching the butterflies and working in the  flowerbeds. Joyce also enjoyed listening to Elvis music and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  

Joyce is survived by her children; Richard (Dawn) Klauka, Julia Hurd, Marcia (John) Burnette, Phillip (Christina) Klauka, Cynthia Klauka, and Cary (Suzan) Kauka; 5 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 5 great-granddaughters; 3 great-grandsons; and 1 great-great-grandson; and sister, Shirley Hurd.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leland; and her  grandson, Todd Burnette.

There will be a Graveside Service at 2:00 PM,  on June 22, 2019 at West Deerfield Cemetery, Fostoria, MI.  Rev. Ron Hutchinson will officiate.
