Johnamarie Simmonds-Rawson

Johnamarie Simmonds-Rawson, 77, of North Branch passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 11, 2023. She was born on June 6, 1946 in Flint, MI, the daughter of Eugene and Mary (Slattery) Simmonds.   Johnamarie grew up in the Grand Blanc Area, attending Holy Family Catholic School and graduating from Grand Blanc High School.  Johnamarie worked at General Motors for a short period of time, before leaving to work as a seamstress out of her home to support her family.  When her children became adults, she moved to Florida and lived with her parents and worked for her brother at EB
Simmonds Electrical, Inc.  Shortly after the death of her parents she returned to live in Michigan.  Johnamarie loved her Catholic faith, taking care of her family and spending time with her great grandson. 

Johnamarie is survived by her daughter, Kim (Paul) Rogers of North Branch; her son, Tim (Sandy) Rawson of Burton; brothers: Pat (Mary) Simmonds of Grand Blanc and Bernie (Lyn) Simmonds of Florida; 6 grandchildren: Veronica, Chelsea, Pat, Samantha, Tim and Matthew (Rochele); 2 great grandchildren: Aaliyah and Archer Lee and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her son Patrick; her sister, Marigene, and her parents, Gene and Mary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Catholic Charities. 

There will be a Funeral Mass 11:00 AM, Friday, August 18, 2023, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, North Branch, MI, with Father Richard Treml officiating.

She will be buried at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery with her son Pat.
