John Ondrajka Jr, age 81, of Marlette passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at his home. John was born August 30, 1940 in Cass City, MI, the son of John and Mabel (Anthes) Ondrajka Sr. He grew up in the Gagetown area. On February 6, 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Dolly Rose Leitermann in Bach, MI. John was a crop farmer and worked at Tri-County Equipment in Marlette.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking care of his lawn, spending time with his grandchildren and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. The most important things in John’s life were his faith, his love for his family and his love for farming.
John is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dolly Rose, his children, Dennis (Robin) Ondrajka, Christa (Marc) House and his daughter-in-law, Margaret Ondrajka, his grandchildren, Adam (Kelly) Ondrajka, Eric Ondrajka, Andy (Lindsay) Ondrajka, Jacqueline Ondrajka, Amber (Tyler) Terry, Aaron (Kelsey) Ondrajka, Caleb (Rachel) House and Khailey House and his 11 great-grandchildren, his sister Elizabeth (Wilbur) Koch, his brothers, Amasa (Peggy) Ondrajka and Fred (Donna) Ondrajka Sr. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark and his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. James Lutheran Church.
Visitation for John will be on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, 2:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel- Martin Funeral Home. On Thursday, May 19, 2022, visitation will be 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at St. James Lutheran Church with funeral service to follow at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Brian Diring will be officiating. John will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery in North Branch, MI.
