In the mist of COVID19 our family lost a beloved daughter, sister, wife and mother. Jennifer Powers-Mosher, 51-years young, passed away suddenly on April 2, 2020 at McLaren Lapeer Hospital. Due to the COVID19 hospital restrictions, we are devastated that we could not be with her. We were only able to say our goodbyes over the phone. We are thankful she had the chance to tell her girls she loved them “more," and her husband, parents and other family members too…but we will forever be heartbroken that she died alone.
Born January 5, 1969, Jennifer was a graduate of Imlay City High School. Jennifer married a few years later to Lauren VanDerPloeg from Imlay City. Tragically, Lauren died in an automobile accident shortly after their first year of marriage. She later married Mark Cheney, also from Imlay City and they had two beautiful baby girls Taylor and Hannah. Jennifer always wanted to be a wife and mother and she enjoyed every moment of it! She loved to cook and entertain for family & friends with pig roast, bon fires, Super Bowl and holiday parties. She devoted her time to her family and was a dedicated mom with both girls active in competitive dance, track and field and volleyball. Sadly, Mark passed away from Cancer in 2006, leaving Jen with 2 young daughters ages 11 and 9. In 2015, Jennifer married Kevin Mosher who she met in high school after rekindling their friendship through Facebook and they lived in North Branch with their two beloved American Bullies Rosie and Koda. She loved her new large extended family and Rosie and Koda were like her little babies.
Despite the numerous tragedies she experienced, Jen leaves many friends and family with wonderful memories that we cherish! Jennifer was a beautiful person who loved everyone, with ALL her heart! She was always smiling and laughing, even when it was hard to. People will remember her laugh (and snort!) and her beautiful smile that lit up a room! She was truly a beautiful person inside and out!
Jennifer is survived by her husband Kevin Mosher; Daughters Taylor Cheney and Hannah Cheney (Daniel Thompson); Father Reginald Powers; Mother Barbara (Harry) Powers; Sister Aimee Powers, Nephew and Nieces: Alex Elwart, Brooke Elwart & Cassidy Pung; Step-Son’s Jacob, Kaleb & Kylan Mosher; Brother/Sister-In-Laws: Wes Mosher Jr, Evette Ruhlman, Lisa Webster, Jade Mosher, Rochelle Ryti, Meegan Bourdeau; numerous Step-Nieces and Nephews.
A memorial service will be held privately, for immediate family due to the COVID19 restrictions. The family will be planning a Celebration of Life, at a later date, for other friends and family members to pay their respects. The Powers and Mosher families mourn the loss of Jennifer, gone way to soon, and appreciate everyone’s support and continued prayers.
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make memorial contributions can donate through the Go Fund Me Memorial for Jennifer Powers-Mosher set up for her two daughters, as they continue their education and future endeavors.
