Janice “Aunt Jan” Brunett, age 89, of Fostoria passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at her home with her family at her side. Jan was born on January 14, 1933, in Alpena, MI, the daughter of Edward and Flossie (Hilts) Brunett. She was a graduate of North Branch Area Schools. Jan retired from AC Spark Plug. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella, Holy Rosary Parish, Flint.
Jan was a boy scout and girl scout leader for 40 plus years. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, bowling and listening to Daniel O’Donnell. She was the family historian and photographer. She was very passionate about sending out birthday and anniversary cards. Aunt Jan never had children of her own but she treated everyone like they were her children. She was a kind soul and will be dearly missed.
Jan is survived by her brother, Roy Brunett, her sister, Jeanie Andersen, many nieces, nephews and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Eugene (Betty) Brunett, her sisters, Darlene (Ivan) Andersen and Helen (Fred) Dreyer, her sister-in-law, Betty Brunett and her brother-in-law, Doug Andersen.
Memorials in Jan’s name may be made to St. Jude’s.
Visitation for Jan will be on Friday, April 29, 2022, 2:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Saturday, April 30, 2022, visitation will be 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Richard Treml will be officiating. Jan will be laid to rest at West Deerfield Cemetery.
