Jane Swadling, age 75, of Otter Lake passed away February 2, 2024. Jane was born February 2, 1949, in St Johns MI, the daughter of Harold and Pauline (Simpson) Coffman. She was a 1966 graduate from Ovid High School. Jane then went on and attended MSU, graduating in 1971 with a Bachelors Degree of Science. On June 23, 1973, Jane married the love of her life David Swadling, at the Free Methodist Church in Lapeer MI.
Jane taught and subbed in the public school system for 10 years. She also worked at Meijer both as a cashier and in produce where she retired after 30 years.
In Jane’s younger years she was very active in 4-H with her cows, she was a real farm girl. She loved to make special occasions, special for people. She always sent out birthday cards to the kids with that $2.00 bill in it or the unique cakes she would bake for them. She was very well known for her love of baking and then giving away everything she made. She also loved playing Euchre and Pedro and going for long walks. Jane was very involved in her church, Vision Pointe in Otisville. She taught Sunday school for several years enjoying every minute of it. Jane and Dave were known as prayer warriors. Jane let her light shine for Jesus and lived a life of integrity and honesty.
Jane is survived by her husband David, brother, John Coffman, sister, Linda Schultz, she was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jane’s name may be made to United Hospice Service and Vision Pointe Church.
Visitation for Jane will be Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM with the funeral following at 1:00 PM, at Vision Pointe Assembly of God Church 944 E Dodge Rd. Otisville MI 48463. Pastor Tom Forgo will be officiating. Burial will be in West Deerfield Cemetery, Fostoria MI.
