James “Jim” Charles Ritter, age 73, of Marlette, MI passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 at home with family by his side.

Jim was born August 17, 1949 to the late Charles and Sue (Andrews) Ritter in Clifford, MI. He grew up in Clifford, graduating from North Branch High School with the Class of 1968. Jim married Andrea Helene Kerna on January 22, 1972 at St. Elizabeth Church in Marlette, MI.

Through out his life Jim was always known as a busy man. He worked for GM, did home construction, remodeling and dairy farming. He loved to build and tinker with things and when he was younger he enjoyed working on his cars.

Jim is survived by his children; Jacob Ritter and Marlo Klaus, grandson; Hayden Ritter, sisters; Mary (Dale) Lanway and Margaret (Stan) Lewiski, brother-in-law; Mike (Becky) Kerna, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife and best friend; Andrea Ritter, parents; Charles and Sue Ritter, father-in-law and mother-in-law; Andrew and Helene Kerna, sister; Sue Ann Baker, nephew Christen Lewiski, brother-in-law; George Kerna.

Private arrangements have been made.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
