James "Jim" Albert O'Neill

James Albert O’Neill, 83, of Columbiaville, Michigan passed away at home on August 1, 2022, surrounded by his family. James “Jim” was born June 11, 1939, in North Branch, Michigan, to Russell and Velma (Garbutt) O’Neill. On June 22, 1963, Jim married Beverly Ann Turcsak.

Jim was a member of the Michigan National Guard and Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office in the 1960’s. He was then employed by General Motors where he worked until his retirement. Jim’s favorite hobbies included golfing, spending time with his family and friends, and the retelling of childhood shenanigans with his twin brother John. One of his greatest joys was finding the Lord that brought him peace and comfort in his passing.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Velma, sisters Ida Mae Comer and Ruth Ann Laur, brothers Bruce O’Neill and John O’Neill. He is survived by his wife Beverly, his three children, Michael O’Neill, Todd (Karrine) O’Neill, and Jennifer (Tom) Walker, sister Marilyn Burns, three grandchildren Todd O’Neill Jr., Thomas Walker, and Brandon Walker, and many nieces and nephews. All of these he loved and cherished.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Pleasant View Free Methodist Church at 8643 Lapeer Road, Mayville, Michigan, with visitation 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in North Branch. Pastor Bruce Crockett officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant View Free Methodist Church for their unwavering support during this difficult time.
