James “Jim” Butler, age 82, of North Branch passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Jim was born February 25, 1939, in Detroit, MI, the son of Floyd and Georgia (Brown) Butler. Jim grew up in Southfield, MI. On June 1, 1963, Jim married Marjorie Wallace in Southfield, MI. He worked as a heavy duty equipment mechanic. Jim enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, camping and boating with the family, working on his hobby farm. He loved the time spent with his family.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie; his children, Margaret (Buck) Maloney, Barbara (Dennis) Fike and James (Belinda) Butler; his grandchildren, Brandon (Lesleigh) Butler, Lane Butler, Travis (Avery) Fike and Cole Fike; his great-grandchildren, Curtis, Lukas, Kennen and Jax Butler. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Morgan Fike, his parents, his brother, Roy Butler, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Margaret Wallace.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Visitation for Jim will be on Monday, August 16, 2021, 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, visitation will be 12:00 P.M.-1:00 P.M. with funeral service to follow at 1:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Peter Damaska will officiate. Jim will be laid to rest at a later date next to his granddaughter, Morgan at Maple Grove Cemetery.
