Gordon Andrew Porritt Sr. 80 years old, a gentle giant who knew no enemies, crossed over into glory and into the arms of Jesus on Monday, October 25, 2021. Gordon married the love of his life, Mary ( Alvarez) Porritt, on March 12, 1960.
Gordon worked at Pontiac Motors for 35 years. He loved the Lord and his family. He loved hunting, farming, camping, following his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to sporting events. He was their biggest fan. Gordon also had an amazing love for horses and his most recent love were his two new puppies.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary Porritt; children Debra (Tom) Dhooghe, Gordon Porritt Jr., Rodney Porritt, and Sandra (William) Warda; grandchildren Tiffany (Kevin) Kreiner, Heather Dhooghe, Tom Jr (Nicole) Dhooghe, Tiffany (Andrew) Velasquez, Sydney Shaw, Hayden Porritt, Gordon Porritt III, Ridgeway Porritt, Jacklyn (Robbie) Lyman, Rodney Porritt Jr, Rachel Warda, Carly Warda, and Olivia Warda, Great-Grandchildren; Brandon Lilly, Michael Lilly, Kody Kreiner, Aidan Dhooghe, Owen Rex, Thomas Dhooghe III, Daylan Velasquez, Allie Velasquez, Audrey Shaw, Bennett Shaw, Jaxon Lyman, Maximus Lyman, Lexi Lyman, and a great-granddaughter to arrive in the next couple of weeks; his brother, Jim Porritt; and many nieces and nephews.
He was born to Earl and Alice (Midgley) Porritt on May 13, 1941, on the farm in North Branch where he resided. He graduated from North Branch High School with the class of 1959. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings; Wayne Porritt, Virginia Klauka, Norma Jean Taylor, Mildred Firmingham, Raymond Porritt, and Alvin Porritt.
The family will be present for visitation on Saturday, November 13, 2021, 12:00 P.M.-1:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Tom Cannon officiating.
