Gerald "Jerry" Edward Bader

Gerald “Jerry” Bader, age 81, of North Branch passed away on July 15, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. Jerry was born on November 11, 1940, in North Branch, the son of Harold and Grace (Kreiner) Bader. Jerry attended North Branch Area Schools and was a 1959 graduate. On August 27, 1960, he married Dolores Tallieu at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in North Branch. Jerry worked as a Tool and Die Lathe Machinist.  Jerry was an active member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the North Branch Knights of Columbus Council 9568. Jerry was a Charter member of the Knights of Columbus and their first Grand Knight. Jerry was responsible for starting the Knights of Columbus in North Branch. He was an important part of the Council always recruiting new members.  He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and watching his grandchildren at sporting events.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dolores, his son, Michael G. (Michelle) Bader, his daughters, Christine (Brian) Curtis, Brenda (Daniel) Boomer and Annette (Todd) Sutton, his grandchildren,  Jessica (Carl), Daniel, Eric, Jeremy, Mitchell, Jacob, Emily, Anna and Joshua, his great-grandson, Collin Bock, his sister, Darlene Hamlin, his brother, Ken (Linda) Bader, his sister-in-laws, Vivian Bader, Mary Lou Bader  and Mary Ann Bader, many nieces and nephews. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Glenn Bader, Bernard Bader and Ronald Bader and his sister, Mary (Bernard) Kohler, infant brothers, Robert and Leslie and his brother-in-law, Duaine Hamlin.

 Memorials in Jerry’s name may be directed to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church or the Knights of Columbus.

The family will be present for visitation on Sunday, July 17, 2022, 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home, with rosary led by the Knights of Columbus at 6:00 P.M.  On Monday, July 18, 2022, visitation will be 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M.    Jerry will be laid to rest at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery.
