Freda Gubanche Obituary

Freda B. Gubanche, age 87, of North Branch passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at McLaren/Lapeer Region Hospital. Freda was born at the family home at Slater’s Corner in Mayfield Township, Lapeer on January 7, 1933. She was the daughter of Glenn and Anna (Vosburg) Slater. On October 22, 1949 she married the love of her life, Stephen Gubanche III in Imlay City, MI. Freda drove school bus for the North Branch Area Schools for many years. She enjoyed embroidering, her rose bushes and playing cards especially euchre, she played 3 times with card playing friends. Freda always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed going out with her friends. As the family said, “no dust grew under her feet!”

Freda is survived by her children, Roxanne (Doug) Rossman, Loreena (Lori) (Keith) Delmage, Debra Gubanche , Stephen Gubanche IV and Harvey Newton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Barbara Snyder; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sisters and brothers.

A private family only service will be held. Freda will be laid to rest next to her husband at North Branch Burlington Cemetery.
